Bir Krishna Maharjan having 30 years experience in Insurance Industry, has completed Master Degree in Business Administration. He is a Law Graduate. He has completed Fellowship Degree from Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai. He started his career in National Insurance Company Ltd., a subsidiary of General Insurance Corporation of India, entirely owned by Government of India in January 1997.
Prior to joining Nepal Insurance in October, 2021 as CEO, he served Prudential Insurance Co. Ltd. as CEO for 14 Years. He was the Board of Director of Surya Life Insurance Co. Ltd., Swadeshi Laghu Bitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. a ‘D’ class Banking Institution, licensed by Central Bank of Nepal, and was Director of Nepal Re-Insurance Company Ltd.
He is a past Vice President of the Nepal Insurer’s Association.
Ishwar Pokharel, who has more than three decades of exposure in different fields, has 22 years of expertise in the banking field and 12 years of experience in academic and other fields. He has displayed his managerial proficiency at Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. and Standard Chartered Bank, where he worked for about 13 years. His exposure was further bolstered working as a General Manager and Deputy CEO for more than 9 years at United Finance Ltd. He has worked as a lecturer for 8 years in different renowned colleges of Nepal, including Nepal Commerce Campus and Baneshwor Campus. His faculties include finance, banking and insurance, accounting, marketing.
He has also served as a Vice Principal for more than 3 years in an English-medium school. He has attended various trainings in leadership, banking, AML/CFT, Crisis Management, and Customer Care.

Bikal Lal Shrestha has been in the insurance field since the year 2004 and has more than two decades of experience in the General Insurance. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (Pune, India) and holds an Associateship Diploma from the Insurance Institute of India (AIII). Previously, he worked at United Insurance Co. (Nepal) Ltd., Siddhartha Insurance Limited, and IGI Prudential Insurance Limited as Assistant General Manager. Now, he has been with this company since January 2024.
